âšľ Walk-Off Win! Cards Eliminate Oregon State 7–6

Louisville baseball is Omaha’s comeback crew. In a tense elimination game Tuesday, Eddie King Jr. lifted a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to score Alex Alicea, securing a 7–6 win over Oregon State and sending the Cards into the College World Series semifinals.

The walk-off capped a game full of grit, redemption, and timely swings:

đź’Ş Big Plays + Bigger Moments:

  • Eddie King Jr.: 2 hits, 3 RBI, and the walk-off sac fly that brought the crowd to its feet. His postseason magic continues.

  • Redemption Arc: After an error in the top of the ninth tied the game, Alex Alicea drew a walk, advanced on two errors, and scored the winning run. He was given the team’s MVP shirt.

  • Pitching Grit: Brennyn Cutts struck out a season-high 7 in just his second Louisville start. Tucker Biven came in clutch again, earning the win and striking out two in the final inning.

  • Power Show: Jake Munroe launched a 394-foot, two-run bomb. Zion Rose followed with a solo shot of his own—his 13th homer of the year.

  • Timely Escapes: In the sixth, with the bases loaded and no outs, Justin West and the Cards allowed just one run. A massive hold.
