ATHLETE UNSCRIPTED: PATRICK FORBES

Patrick Forbes Is Pitching Dreams and Striking Out Doubt

When junior pitcher Patrick Forbes stepped onto campus, he wasn’t exactly what you’d expect from a guy who now throws 99 MPH fastballs.

“I didn’t even start seriously pitching until my senior year of high school,” he said on a recent episode of Athlete Unscripted with Sidney Depp. “I came in as mostly a hitter.”

Now, he’s one of the most electric arms on the Cardinals’ roster, with big goals for 2025: “Getting to Omaha. That’s the biggest thing. We’ve struggled the past two years, so getting back there is number one.”

Some Patrick Facts:

⚽️ Grew up playing soccer and basketball before shifting focus to baseball.

💨 Throws 99 MPH

🎮 Loves Fortnite

🎸 Teaches himself guitar with Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’” but he’s a country guy who appreciates some Morgan Wallen.

🎯 Goal for 2025: Omaha or bust.
