⚾ Cards Fall Just Short in Omaha

Louisville’s thrilling College World Series run ended Wednesday afternoon in the Bracket final, falling 11-3 to Coastal Carolina.

Louisville finishes the 2025 season with a 42-24 overall record, reaching the College World Series for the sixth time in program history and the first since 2019. The Cardinals surpassed the 40-win mark for the 14th time in Dan McDonnell's 19 seasons for a Louisville program whose record was 39 wins before his arrival.

⭐ Three Cardinals Named to All-Tournament Team

Despite the team’s exit, Louisville didn’t leave Omaha empty-handed.

Eddie King Jr., Jake Munroe, and Kamau Neighbors were named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team, giving Louisville the second-most selections behind national champion LSU.

King capped off a spectacular postseason with a strong showing in Omaha—going 6-for-14 with a double and 3 RBI, including the walk-off sac fly that lifted the Cards past Oregon State. Earlier, he was named MVP of the Nashville Regional and delivered a multi-homer performance in the Super Regional.

Munroe continued his hot streak in the CWS, batting .353 with a home run and four runs scored, leading Louisville in runs (11) and homers (4) across the entire NCAA Tournament.

Neighbors emerged as a breakout star, posting a tournament-best .615 average (8-for-13), highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance against Arizona—the first four-hit game of his college career.

This marks the first time in program history that Louisville has landed three players on the All-Tournament Team, joining past honorees Brendan McKay (2017) and Drew Campbell (2019) in the record books.

👯‍♀️ Double Trouble: Cards Sign Morris Sisters to Women’s Soccer

Louisville women’s soccer is getting a local upgrade by adding twin sisters Taylor and Trista Morris to the 2025 roster.

Reclassifying to join the team early, the J. Graham Brown School standouts bring both talent and chemistry.

Taylor, a forward, racked up 104 goals in high school and was a two-time All-Region selection. Trista, a versatile defender, added 36 goals and 41 assists of her own, while earning ECNL Ohio Valley first-team honors.

Head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes praised the duo’s athleticism and potential: “It just made sense to start their development now.” The Cards open their season August 14 at Auburn.

🌎 Cards Lacrosse Makes Global Impact

The Cardinals are making their mark beyond the NCAA this summer, as four Louisville lacrosse standouts will represent Team Canada at the 2025 Pan-American Women’s Lacrosse Championship, held June 26–30 in Auburndale, Florida.

Rian Adkins and Reese Whiteman join former Cards Kylea Dobson and Nicole Perroni on the national team roster. They’ll be guided by none other than UofL’s own head coach, Scott Teeter, and associate head coach Allison Daley, who are leading Team Canada in the tournament.

The squad will face Haudenosaunee, Jamaica, and Argentina in pool play as they compete for continental bragging rights and international experience.
